e-Ticket & Mobticket

This document set out the terms and conditions applicable for reservation of tickets through Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (‘KTMB)’s online ticketing service (‘E-Ticket’) and mobile application (‘Mobile App’) which is governed by Malaysian law. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time. You will be deemed to have accepted all terms and conditions if you make reservation through the service. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you should discontinue your transaction.
                            
  1. Availability of tickets
    1. Tickets are subject to availability and KTMB’s general terms and conditions, and to particular terms and conditions that apply to each intercity and ETS service.
     
  2. Accuracy of information
    1. We do our best to ensure that information and fares displayed on the services are correct.
     
  3. In using E-Ticket/Mobile Apps, you agree that:
    1. You will use this service only for your personal use and not for any unlawful or illegal purpose.
    2. You will not modify, transmit, copy, sell or transfer any information or service you may obtain from this service.
    3. You will be responsible for any charge, cost and/or liability that arises, out of your use of this service.
     
  4. Copyright
    1. No part of this service may be copied, published, broadcasted or adapted without KTMB’s prior written consent.
     
  5. Ticket
    1. Purchase of ticket can be done within 30 days prior to the traveling date but not less than 4 hours before departure.
    2. A non-refundable Malaysian Ringgit 2.00 administrative charge will be imposed for each ticket.
    3. The child fare for passengers aged between 4 to 12 years is 50% of the adult travel fare (passengers below 4 years old may travel free of charge).
    4. Tickets for trains departing from Woodlands, Singapore will be charged and payable in Singapore Dollar denomination.
    5. A maximum of 6 tickets can be purchased for each transaction via E-Ticket and a maximum of 2 tickets can be purchased for each transaction via the Mobile Apps.
    6. Payment is via internet banking (Visa and Master credit cards as well as selected debit cards)
    7. Purchase of tickets for selected ETS/Intercity trains is subject to terms relating to minimum distance.
    8. If the ticket reservation was unsuccessful and the customer has been charged for the fares, the financial institution will refund the amount via the customer’s account within 14 working days.
    9. The passenger’s name and Identity Card (IC)/passport number must be registered during the purchase of ticket for inspection and verification purposes by KTMB’s personnel on board the train.
    10. Passenger must print or save their ticket’s image via smartphone or tablet for inspection purposes.
    11. Passengers may print their ticket at their own printer or at any KTM Intercity ticket counter (passengers must produce their ticket ID or ticket reference number).
     
  6. Concession/Discount Ticket (For E-Ticket Only)
    1. The following are eligible for concessions tickets:-
      • Senior citizen 60 years and above (Malaysian only).
      • Disable and registered with Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (Malaysian only).
      • KTMB i-Card Student (for card holder only)
    2. Passenger’s name and IC/passport number must be registered during purchase of ticket for inspection and verification purpose by KTM Berhad personnel.
    3. Concession/discount ticket is not valid for shuttle service JB Sentral – Woodlands – JB Sentral.
  1. Ticket Inspection
    1. A ticket is valid for the passenger whose name and IC/passport number is stated on the ticket and in the boarding list.
    2. Passengers must produce an original copy of the following  document during ticket inspection:-
      • IC or passport.
      • Registration card issued by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (for disabled person buying tickets using E-Ticket only).
      • IC or passport and KTMB i-Card Student.
    3. Passengers who fail to produce a valid ticket and/or an original copy of the above documents during inspection on board the train must pay the full fare and a surcharge.
    4. Foreigners holding senior citizen or disable concession tickets during inspection on board the train must pay the full fare and a surcharge.
    5. Passengers on the shuttle service between JB Sentral – Woodlands – JB Sentral holding concession/discount tickets during inspection at KTMB’s premises or on board the train must pay the full fare and a surcharge.
    6. Tickets are not transferable.
  1. Amendment of ticket
    1. Any amendment can be done at KTMB’s Intercity ticket counter at least 24 hours before the departure time stated on the original ticket.
    2. Passengers must produce a valid printed ticket, ticket ID or ticket reference number.
    3. Terms and conditions:-
      • Amendments of travelling date and/or time of departure and/or coach type is allowed.
      • Amendments are subject to availability of seat/berth at the time of amendment.
      • A non-refundable amendment charge will be imposed for each ticket.
    4. No refund will be given for the difference in ticket price if the passenger downgrades his/her ticket to a lower class.
  1. Cancellation of ticket and refund of fares
    1. Cancellation can be done at KTMB’s Intercity ticket counter at least 4 hours before departure time.
    2. Passengers must produce a valid printed ticket, ticket ID or ticket reference number and together with their IC/Passport.
    3. Terms and conditions:-
      • For any cancellation submitted less than 72 hours prior to train departure, a refund of 50% of the ticket fare will be given.
      • For any cancellation submitted more than 72 hours prior to train departure, a refund of 75% of the ticket fare will be given.
      • No refund will be given if the cancellation is submitted less than 4 hours prior to train departure or after departure time.
    4. No refund will be given for administrative, amendment or any other charges.
    5. Refund of ticket fare will be credit to customer’s account within 6 month period (for payment via Master or Visa).
  1. Changes/Cancellation by KTM BERHAD
    1. If any change or cancellation is made by KTMB to any coach or train service:-
      • KTMB’s maximum liability is to refund the ticket fares only.
      • No refund will be given for administrative, amendment or any other charges..
  1. Error/incorrect travel details
    1. KTMB accepts no liability for any error in travel details due to:-
      • Incorrect information keyed in by the customer during purchasing of ticket.
      • Force majeure and/or any matter beyond KTMB’s reasonable control.
  1. Others
    1. Passengers are advised to read KTMB’s Conditions of Carriage.
    2. These terms and conditions are correct as at the time of printing and subject to change without prior notice.
